Instagram is bringing its stories, Snapchat’s clone to the web by adding the ability for you to view Stories on desktop and mobile web so you can see the temporary posts on larger screens. Instead of the usual tap left or right to move between posts and stories on smartphones.
The update is rolling out globally today and will allow users to upload stories via mobile web, this is particularly helpful for those into photography who go the extra length of editing images on their computers before sharing them as stories. Instagram is adding arrows to help you navigate.
The upload feature is expected to come in the next few months but Instagram has not yet considered the possibility of desktop uploads, even though it’s likely to be a game changer.
